The team behind the transformation of College Court has been recognised at the East Midlands Local Authority Building Control (LABC) Building Excellence Awards, taking their total number of awards to five.

The University's development project, which transformed a former University Halls of Residence into a state-of-the-art conference facility and hotel, received the Best Change of Use of an Existing Building or Conversion award on Friday 4 July.

It follows the award by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) East Midlands Region Best Building Conservation Project award and no less than three wins at the Royal Institute of British Architects East Midlands Awards.

Winning regional projects from England and Wales automatically qualify for the LABC Building Excellence Awards Grand Finals, which will be staged in London on Tuesday 11 November 2014.

College Court is a £17.5 million project which turned the University's Grade II listed College Hall buildings into a leading residential conference venue.
