Professor Mark Lansdale to discuss the Psychology of Richard III and Business at Leicestershire Institute of Directors Event

Just who was King Richard III and what made him tick will be analysed and discussed at an Institute of Directors (IoD) event at the School of Management on Thursday 13 February between 6:00 - 7:30pm - and students (undergraduate and postgraduate) are encouraged to attend for free.

During the event Professor Mark Lansdale (pictured) will speak to Leicestershire businesses and students about the last Plantagenet King’s psychological make-up. He will also tell how the University’s School of Psychology can help entrepreneurs and businesses alike assess their own strengths and weaknesses.

Professor Lansdale, with forensic psychologist Dr Julian Boon, put together a psychological analysis of Richard III based on the consensus among historians relating to Richard’s experiences and actions.

They found that while there was no evidence for Shakespeare’s depiction of Richard as a psychopath, he may have had “intolerance to uncertainty syndrome”- which may have manifested in control freak tendencies.

This event has now been cancelled.
