University students to attend two-day Leicester Civic Hack event on 1-2 March

Students will be participating in the Leicester Civic Hack, a free two-day event which will bring people together to explore how technology and data can help to address public issues and raise awareness, taking place on 1-2 March between 9:00am on Saturday and 4:00pm on Sunday at the National Space Centre.

Organised by Leicester Tech Start-ups in cooperation with the University, the City Council, and Dock - Leicester's new Innovation and Technology Centre - the aim of the Civic Hack is to use ideas and data in new ways to help make life better in the city through discussions with experts in data analysis and software development.

The Leicester Civic Hack is a weekend ‘hackathon’ where programmers, data owners and other citizens get together to solve civic problems for the good of the city. The event is seeking coders, data owners, data experts, citizen activists, public officials and anyone with ideas about how data and technology could make Leicester a better place.

You can register for the hack event itself here.
