Our popular Crocus Sundays are this week and next at the Botanic Garden

Each year around this time the serried ranks of Crocus tommasinianus burst through the topsoil of the University's Botanic Garden in Oadby and we open the place up for a brace of ‘Crocus Sundays’.

A short walk in the fresh air will take you past borders where you can see colourful Hellebores and Winter Aconites, You might still be able to see some Viburnums, Witch-hazels, and the related Persian Ironwood if they are still in flower. The walk leads to the Alpine House in whose sheltered environment you’ll find a colourful show of flowering bulbs.

Come down to the Botanic Garden this Sunday (2 March) or next (9 March) and enjoy the display. Entrance is by donation to local charity Leicestershire Alzheimers society.
