Leicester Cathedral will be making 200 seats available for members of the general public at each of the three services connected with the reinterment of King Richard lll in March 2015. This represents one third of all the seating in the Cathedral for these events.

On Friday 12 December, 100 days before the week of events, the ballot will become active and people from anywhere in the world can apply. The ballot closes on 31 December at 12noon.

Names will be selected at random, and those selected will receive an invitation from the Dean of Leicester, The Very Revd David Monteith. Half these invitations will be allocated to people who live in Leicestershire and Rutland, and half to the rest of the UK and the world.

The services included in the ballot for invitations are Sunday 22 March at 6.00pm, Thursday 26 March at 11.30am and Friday 27 March at 12noon.

The ballot can be found online and will be live from 8.00am on Friday 12 December. It is expected that letters will be sent out to all those to be invited in the week beginning 12 January.

Paper copies for entry will also be available at Leicester and Leicestershire libraries, the King Richard lll Visitors Centre and Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre.
