All University visitors will be able to access free wifi on campus

The University of Leicester has launched free WiFi across its campus to be used by all guests, visiting lecturers and prospective students and their families.

The WiFi, provided by The Cloud, will cover 69 locations including main campus and buildings across the city via more than 500 access points. The service will enable guests to go online quickly and easily – allowing access to the University of Leicester app, plus online tools including educational resources and social media.

Daniel Lawrence, Deputy Director of IT, said: “As a large university with a constant stream of visiting alumni, guest lecturers, prospective students and other visitors, providing WiFi is essential to meet today’s expectations. Connectivity is expected from all our visitors and we are meeting this need.”
