Leicester Tigers future rugby stars will be provided with a ‘home from home’ by the University.

The Oadby student village will be the base for 11 promising young players in their first year at the Tigers Academy.  The newcomers will be provided with living accommodation and study space that has been decorated with images of former youth team graduates, such as World Cup-winning captain Martin Johnson.

The partnership between the University and the Tigers sees two of Leicester’s high-profile and international organisations working together to provide outstanding young rugby players with the supportive environment they need to flourish while away from home.

The University's Vice Chancellor, Professor Sir Robert Burgess attended the official opening on Friday 20 September. Tigers Academy graduates Dan Cole, Tom Croft, Manu Tuilagi and Ben Youngs were also guests of honour at the event.
