Dr Lewis Dartnell, a UK Space Agency research fellow based at the University, will deliver a lecture to the public on Thursday, 17 October offering a glimpse into the potential for alien life existing in outer space.

The session will discuss an array of engaging topics, from how life emerged on our planet to where in the cosmos we might expect to find alien life.

Alongside his Astrobiology research, Dr Dartnell writes regular science articles in newspapers and magazines and has appeared in TV shows such as BBC Stargazing live, Wonders of the Universe and Horizon.

Dr Dartnell has also published a popular science book introducing Astrobiology entitled “Life in the Universe: A Beginner’s Guide” and has illustrated a children’s book.

The lecture will take place in Room E of the Physics and Astronomy Building Thursday, 17 October from 6.00 – 7.30pm.
