GENIE to host Lifestyle and Cancer Awareness Workshop on Saturday, 12 October

The University’s Genetics Education Networking for Innovation and Excellence (GENIE) will hold its fourth Lifestyle and Cancer Awareness Workshop between 1:30pm and 5:00pm on Saturday, 12 October.

People concerned about a family history of cancer are invited to meet with experts who will advise on preventing or delaying the disease. There will be opportunities to ask questions, share your views and find out more about preventing or delaying the onset of inherited cancer.

The workshop, organised by GENIE’s Supporting Families with Cancer team, will focus on preventing cancer through diet and drugs and lifestyle advice and support.

The event is supported by Macmillan Cancer Support, the University of Leicester, University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, and the National Institute for Health Research’s Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care for Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Rutland.

The workshop will take place in the Maurice Shock Building between 1:30pm and 5:00pm. For more information and to register, please email: sfwc@le.ac.uk
