Some of our talented students from the Creative Collective Society have written an anthology entitled ‘Write for the Future’ that is due to be published by Inspired Quill.

A launch party to celebrate the event will be held on campus on Saturday 19 October 2013 between 1pm and 4pm on the 4th floor of the Charles Wilson building in the Gartree and Rutland Suite.
The book contains poetry, play scripts and short stories. The overall theme of the book is “the future” - a broad topic that has inspired a wide variety of works. All have been created by our students, and each of the students has their own unique vision and means of expression.
The event will feature: an open-mic session where writers can perform readings of their work; a creative writing workshop with Nick Palmer, a former Leicester student and published author; a talk and Q&A session about the publishing industry from Sara-Jayne Slack of Inspired Quill, the publisher of the anthology and another Leicester graduate; and more!
There will also be a chance to buy the book for £6.99, and 50% of the proceeds will be donated to the Shine for the Spark campaign, which aims to promote the arts for children in deprived areas.

The event on Saturday 19 October is free to attend and refreshments will be provided.
