Award-winning authors and University academics to discuss a range of exciting topics at literature event

Amitav Ghosh, Antonia Fraser and Michael Frayn are just a few of the well-known authors who will be in attendance at the sixth annual Literary Leicester festival taking place from 13-16 November.

A wealth of prolific writers and University academics will be presenting on a series of topics based on their authorial and research interests, ranging from discussions about specific novels to new linguistic and literary interpretations of Richard III.

The festival is for all ages, with some events being tailored for young people in particular, including Hibernating Animals: a story-telling and drawing workshop for children run by award-winning illustrator Reg Cartwright and his wife Ann.

Other fringe events include a showcase of local writers featured in the online Grassroutes Writers’ Gallery, a series of original works edited by Dr Corinne Fowler, a lecturer in Postcolonial Literature in the School of English.

Now in its sixth year, Literary Leicester has established a unique place among literary festivals. It brings together a wealth of renowned and exciting writers in stimulating events that are free to attend.
