Our new Conference Centre, College Court, officially opened for business today (Tuesday 1 October).

Professor Sir Robert Burgess, the University’s Vice-Chancellor, cut the ribbon earlier today to officially mark the opening. That was followed by the burial of a time capsule on site, containing memorabilia from the former halls of residence to be dug up in 50 years time in the year 2063.

The £17.5 million Centre offers state-of-the-art facilities complemented by the natural tranquility of the surrounding trees and landscaped gardens.

Up to 160 guests will be able to stay in stylish high quality bedrooms with balconies overlooking the venue’s elegant courtyards and the University’s Attenborough Arboretum.

The development will also house 18 conference rooms, 123 en suite bedrooms, restaurant, bar, private dining room and garden lounge.

With its plans for future growth, and with bookings in its diary until June 2016, College Court will welcome major corporate businesses from all over the UK.
