Richard Everard OBE, leader of the company behind over 170 Leicestershire pubs, visited the main campus for a showcase of students’ volunteering work after having made his 25th annual donation of £2,000 to Contact Student Volunteers.

Working with the Careers Development Service at the University of Leicester, Contact’s work would not have been possible without the help of the Everard Foundation, charitable arm of Everards Brewery.

Everard was delighted and impressed with the exhibition, which celebrated the scores of projects made possible by his donations. These included student Laura Hollis’s creative writing in primary schools project (CWIPS) which engaged 300 Leicester school pupils, and Michaela Dowe-Stephenson’s volunteering experience with Witness Service & Leicester Youth Offending Service which led her to gain a prestigious scholarship to train as a Barrister, among many others.
