Leicester’s Cultural Quarter will be a vibrant hive of activity this June as An Indian Summer festival comes to the city for the third year running.

A film festival, workshops, a range of entertainment performances, talks, exhibitions, theatre and Indian stalls will be held at a series of venues across the city including Curve Theatre and Phoenix, as festival organisers aim to bring the sights, sounds and tastes of India to Leicester.

Festival Director, Bipin Anand said: “The whole aim of the festival is to educate people about another culture, in very creative means. This will be achieved through exhibitions, performances, talks, the decoration and the films.

“We are proud to have University of Leicester as a sponsor because of the underlining education and community building behind it. This is the city's festival and it is growing to become one of the biggest cultural and educational festivals in the UK. With University of Leicester and all of its resources behind it, we feel confident that we can achieve this.”
