University’s Botanic Garden a hive of activity on Ecology Day

University of Leicester celebrates British Ecological Society’s centenary on Sunday 4 August

As part of the British Ecological Society’s Centenary year festivities, the University of Leicester Botanic Garden is hosting an ecologically themed event with stalls and activities for all ages.

The free event on Sunday 4 August, invites the public to take part in a range of activities including willow weaving, minibeast/ invertebrate hunting, adaptation trails and pond dipping.

There will also be an opportunity to see a honey bee observation hive and to find out how you can help fruit fly research, whilst talking to a variety of people about their work.

The Ecology Day at the University of Leicester Botanic Garden will be held on Sunday 4 August 11:00-4:00pm. The event is free and open to all.
