Lecturer Paul Reilly has his article on the Egypt uprising published by academic and research based website.

Paul Reilly, of our Department of Media and Communication, has had his work on the impact of social media published by The Conversation.

The article, entitled “Egypt Uprising: more than just a ‘Twitter Revolt’” explores the influence and impact of social media on the recent uprisings in Egypt against Mohammad Morsi’s government. By widening his outlook to the Arab Spring, Reilly looks at the apparently leaderless nature of the uprisings and the power that social media has for mobilising protestors.

The Conversation is a not-for-profit, independent source of information, analysis and commentary from the university and research sector. Content for The Conversation is written by acknowledged experts and delivered directly to the public.
