Nǐ hǎo China! Event launches China Studies Research Alliance

The China Studies Research Alliance (ChiSRA) was launched on 20 June 2013 with an event which saw colleagues from departments as diverse as Museum Studies and Chemistry come together to discuss their shared interests in China and China Studies.

The event saw around 20 colleagues from across the University meeting to discuss their wide ranging research interests in China Studies. It is hoped that the Network will develop to provide a key platform, both for research in this area and also for building links with institutions in China.

Dr Ming Lim from the School of Management who is co-ordinating the Research Alliance said:

“I have been really pleased with the interest from across the University in ChiSRA and how keen colleagues have been to get involved. We are now planning for further events later this year, to build on this enthusiasm and ensure the Research Alliance can achieve its aims of bringing together research in this area and also building existing and new relationships with colleagues in China”.

Professor Kevin Schürer, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Research and Enterprise, commented:

“This is an exciting development for the University and one which I fully support. Collaborative and cross-disciplinary research are essential elements within the profile of the organisation, and this approach will, I am sure, bring about new and important work on China”
