Embrace humour: city’s festival of comedy comes to the University’s arts centre

The forthcoming Embrace Arts event - 'Abnormally Funny People'

Embrace Arts is hosting a programme of comedy with a difference this February as part of Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival.  

The University of Leicester’s inclusive arts centre, Embrace Arts, proudly presents a distinctive line-up of nine stand-up, theatre, discussion and children’s events from 8 – 24 February.  

Artists include Liz Carr, currently starring in the new series of BBC1’s ‘Silent Witness’, and the award-winning Laurence Clark, returning to Embrace after his sell-out show last June. 

The full line-up of this fortnight of frivolity is:

Friday 8 February- Ollie Smith: 27

Saturday 9 February- Abnormally Funny People

Sunday 10 February- Funny Bones

Thursday 14 February- Silver Stand-up Competition

Saturday 16 February- Gareth Berliner and Kiruna Stamell in The short and long of it...

Sunday 17 February- The Gramophones Theatre Company: End to End

Saturday 23 February- HandMade Theatre: The Flying Machine

Sunday 24 February- Paul Currie: Kid's Comedy

Sunday 24 February- Beyond Compere presents Laurence Clark: Inspired
