George Fisher-Wilson, an undergraduate student from the School of Management at the University of Leicester, has won the ‘Management Undergraduate of the Year Award’ at an awards ceremony hosted by ITV journalist Sir Trevor McDonald.

The prestigious prize, which is sponsored by Enterprise Rent-A-Car, aims to recognise outstanding undergraduates studying management or a business related degree. It was one of twelve awarded at the national ‘TARGETjobs Undergraduate of the Year Awards’ ceremony held in Canary Warf.

To be named as ‘Management Undergraduate of the Year’, George had to complete a rigorous series of online tests, application forms, interviews and assessment exercises that mirror a typical graduate recruitment process. As his prize, he will embark upon a ten week summer placement with Enterprise Rent-A-Car including a week in the USA.

George was one of three University of Leicester undergraduates to be shortlisted for an award, alongside Abigail Ackerman from the Department of Physics and Astronomy and Benjamin Wootton from the School of Management. All three were invited to the awards ceremony, where they were able to meet with some of the UK’s top graduate employers.
