Human remains discovered in search for King Richard III
Later this morning the University of Leicester is convening a press conference to announce a major step forward in the search for King Richard III.
The Greyfriars Project, which has attracted extraordinary global media attention over the past three weeks, has to date uncovered fascinating archaeological evidence. Key has been the discovery of the lost medieval church of the Grey Friars where Richard is recorded as being buried after his death at the Battle of Bosworth.
Today, University archaeologists have confirmed the discovery of human remains at the site.
The press conference is scheduled for 11.00am BST today (Wednesday) with representatives of the University, Leicester City Council and the Richard III Society in attendance. Be sure to follow @uniofleicester on Twitter for live coverage of whatever is announced.
