Leicester rises in global university rankings

Ten-place jump in list of top 200 institutions.

This week, the QS World University Rankings for 2012/13 were released and we are delighted to announce that the University of Leicester has jumped ten places from 195 to 185.

The QS World University Rankings currently considers over 2,000 and evaluates over 700 universities in the world, ranking the top 400. Six indicators are drawn together to form the international ranking:

  • Academic reputation from global survey
  • Employer reputation from global survey
  • Citations per faculty from the SciVerse Scopus database
  • Faculty student ratio
  • Proportion of international students
  • Proportion of international faculty

This is the sixth year in a row that Leicester has been included in the top 200 universities in the world.
