Further opportunities to visit Britain’s most famous car park.

Because of the tremendous interest generated by Wednesday’s announcement, the Greyfriars dig, where the bones of (possibly) Richard III were discovered, will be open to the public again this weekend and next, and Wednesday evening too.

You can visit the dug-up car park at these times:

  • Saturday 15 September: 11.00am-4.00pm
  • Sunday 16 September: 11.00am-4.00pm
  • Wednesday 19 September: 5.00pm-7.00pm
  • Saturday 22 September: 11.00am-4.00pm
  • Sunday 23 September: 11.00am-4.00pm

Entrance is free but be prepared to queue (and please wear sensible footwear).

Objects recovered from the dig and information panels about the project will be on display in the Guildhall at the same times this weekend and next weekend (but not Wednesday evening). Entrance to the Guildhall is free.

Please note: these new open days are being organised by Leicester City Council, not the University, so please direct any queries their way.
