Bridget Blair takes a trip around our gardens and sculpture exhibition

Keen blogger and BBC journalist Bridget Blair has written two blogs about trips she has taken to visit the University of Leicester's Botanical Gardens during July.

Her first blog is a light hearted and interesting narrative of her trip to see this year's sculpture exhibition 'Interesting Times'. The blog is illustrated by beautiful photos of the sculptures themselves.

Bridget highlights that the sculptures shed a new light on the garden itself, and that the sculpture exhibition gave her the chance to look at the garden with new eyes.

Her second blog, ‘Other days at the Botanical Gardens’, takes the audience on a historical trip of the gardens and buildings. It also includes amusing inserts about her family’s experiences on days out in the garden. The cacti filled glasshouse provides an ample space for Bridget’s eldest son to rush into the hot desert of an imagninary Wild West.

Both blogs are a great read and provide a personal insight into University of Leicester’s botanical gardens. Why not take a trip to the botanical garden yourself and unlock your own secret garden.

The University of Leicester Annual Sculpture Exibition will run until 28 October 2012. If you want to visit the University of Leicester Botanic Garden, it is currently open every day from 11.00am to 4.00pm on Stoughton Drive South, Oadby.
