Regional event discusses religion, equalities law and human rights

University of Leicester graduate Halla Diyab.

Two specialists on human rights associated with the University of Leicester are to address a countywide forum this month.

Chairman of Leicestershire County Council, Councillor Peter Lewis, will Chair the event, on the theme of Religion, Equalities Law and Human Rights, on Monday 19 November.

Peter Cumper from the School of Law is will be joined by University of Leicester graduate Dr Halla Diyab for an Inter Faith Forum Event that coincides with National Inter Faith Week 2012.

Peter Cumper is a senior lecturer at the University of Leicester, and has a particular interest in Human Rights, Law and Religion. He will be speaking about UK Equality Law and Human Rights, a subject on which he has also published a range of academic research.

Dr Halla Diyab is the founder of the independent production company, Liberty Media Productions, which is based in Leicester and London. Dr Diyab will be providing an international perspective on Human Rights, Equalities and Religion.

The Inter Faith Forum Event will take place on 19 November, County Hall, Glenfield, Leicester from 6.00pm - 8.00pm, the event is free and open to the public.
