Massive leap for Leicester Students’ Union in national survey

Student Experience poll puts our Union in the top ten.

The results of the 2012 Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey reflect the tremendous investment that we have put into our Students’ Union in recent years, with a 20-place jump to joint eighth (in a list of 105 institutions).

The results from the latest survey find us solidly in the top ten, sharing eighth spot with Reading, Birmingham, Southampton and UEA.

This success reflects the redevelopment of the Percy Gee Building, which was officially opened just over a year ago: the Square, the ARC, the shops and restaurant, the disabled access, the toilets and of course the O2 Academy venue incorporated into the building.

We know that what we now have is one of the very best Students’ Unions in the country: because of the great feedback from our students; because the building had won a stack of awards; and frankly because we all use it ourselves. But it’s nice to have this validation in a national survey.
