Leicester cited as an example in newspaper feature.

Yesterday’s Independent included a feature on the challenges and opportunities inherent in funding a postgraduate degree.

“Next year, with most universities charging £9,000 for every year of undergraduate study, the price tag for a postgraduate course won’t look so daunting,” wrote journalist Steve McCormack. “But one important difference remains. There’s no universal state system of financial support for postgraduate study.”

Researching the article, McCormack spoke with Professor Sarah Hainsworth, our Graduate Dean, and also to Adrian Gascoigne from our Student Welfare Service. They explained about opportunities for funding from charitable trusts and grant-giving bodies as well as highlighting the possibility of studying part-time or by distance learning.
