Popular telly archaeologist presents seminar on Somerset project.

Professor Mick Aston from the University of Bristol is more recognisable than most archaeology professors, thanks to two decades* on television co-presenting Time Team. This Thursday, 6 October, he will visit our Centre for English Local History to present a seminar which is open to the public.

Mick’s talk on ‘The Winscombe Project, Somerset. The why and how of a local study’ takes place in the Bennett Building, Lower Ground Floor, Lecture Theatre 3, at 2.15pm on Thursday 6 October 2011. The event is free but we expect it to be very popular so please reserve your place by calling 0116 252 2762.

*Time Team has been running since 1994 but it was preceded by a similar series called Time Signs, also presented by Mick Aston, which began in 1991.
