This afternoon, Dr Richard Jones from our School of Historical Studies is a guest on the Radio 4 programme Making History.

Each week on the show, an archaeologist or historian is invited to play ‘Double-top Domesday’ which involves literally throwing a dart at a map. The participant then has to travel to the location and “unpack the landscape history that they see without using any written records”.

Richard’s arrows land in Sturton by Stow, a little village halfway between Lincoln and Gainsborough.

Making History is on at 3.00pm today, Tuesday 24 May 2011, and will then be available on iPlayer for a week.
