A chance to find out about studying criminology from home.

If you’re interested in gaining a qualification in Criminology but don’t want to be a full-time student, how about a distance learning course? On 1 June 2011 our Department of Criminology throws open its doors for a Distance Learning Open Afternoon.

This is your chance to find out about the courses on offer within the Department and talk to staff about what is involved.

The Department offers a two-year Foundation Degree in Security and Risk Management which can be topped up to a full Bachelors Degree with an additional year of study. And there are three subjects available at postgraduate level:

  • Criminology and Criminal Justice
  • Police Leadership and Management
  • Security and Risk Management

Each of these is available as a Postgraduate Certificate (one year), Postgraduate Diploma (18 months) or a full Masters Degree (two years). These  courses are designed for mid-career professionals who are looking to add an academic dimension to their professional profile but don’t want to put their career on hold to study.
