Unheard words of writers

Newly launched project at Leicester aims to promote Leicestershire's hidden writing talent.

Grassroutes will address negative public perception of regional black and minority ethnic writers, which has greatly affected their access to and reputation among the audience.

Run within our School of English by lecturer and author Dr Corinne Fowler, the project will uncover those creative gems to the wider public on local, national and international level.

Through collaboration with a range of regional organisations, Grassroutes will map talented Leicestershire-based writers and by increasing their profile help create more representative image of Britain’s multicultural literary landscape.
