With the Olympics approaching, here’s a wonderful opportunity to find out more about England's role in the revival of the Games.

University is part of the official London 2012 Inspire programme, which recognises organisations across the UK for delivering projects and events inspired by the Olympics.

Started by our Sports and Recreation Service, our programme ‘Insights into the Games’ celebrates the Olympic and Paralympic Games and offers a great chance to get to know more about the beloved event.

The fifth lecture in the series is delivered by Professor Robert Colls from our School of Historical Studies on England and the Olympics, where he’ll explore England’s influence in the revival of the modern Olympic Games.

The free lecture is taking place on Thursday, 24 February, at 5.30pm in Ken Edwards Lecture Theatre 3. Everyone is welcome to join for an insightful evening.

You can request free tickets via sport@le.ac.uk or on the door on the night.
