The 2011 Performance Ranking of Scientific Papers for World Universities has been published. This global league table is known as the HEEACT* ranking or Taiwan ranking and is administered by National Taiwan University.

Leicester sits at number 178 in the list, placing is solidly within the top two per cent of the world’s universities. Narrowing the field down to just British institutions sees us 17th in the table, confirming our well-established position as a top twenty university.

The Taiwan ranking is entirely based on scientific papers statistics and focuses on three major criteria: research productivity, research impact, and research excellence. Employing statistical data derived from authoritative sources, the Taiwan Ranking is considered objective, stable, and useful for benchmarking.
