Southside Johnny vs Scroobius Pip: great acts lined up for Leicester

Sorry folks, this one's sold out.

Ever since it was announced that the refurbished Students’ Union would feature three music venues managed by the O2 group, top acts have been adding Leicester to their tour dates.

The diversity on offer is exemplified on Thursday 28 October. If you don’t fancy seeing smartly suited British rapper Plan B in O2 Academy Leicester (and even if you do, you can’t, ‘cause the gig is sold out), you can head down to O2 Academy 2 Leicester to see New Jersey rockers Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes.

From The Wedding Present to The Birthday Massacre, from Philadelphia Grand Jury to China Crisis, there’s something for everyone. And more big acts being named every week. Plus, of course, some terrific unsigned local bands in support slots including Surrender the Coast and That Sunday Feeling.

And if we can't actually bring you The Doors or The Stone Roses, there's the next best thing...

At most events, under-14s must be accompanied by someone over 18 (please note that the Mr Scruff gig on 18 October is over-18s only). Anyone who is (or looks) under 21 will require ID to buy alcohol.

Here is the current line-up. You can keep up to date with further developments by subscribing to the O2 Academy Leicester newsletter.
