The Freeport News – ‘Grand Bahama’s first newspaper’ – reports the graduation success of Shanandor Harold Evans who received his Masters in Criminal Justice from our Department of Criminology. Mr Evans recently retired as Assistant Commissioner of the Royal Bahamas Police Force.

He studied for his degree by Distance Learning, having already gained a Postgraduate Certificate in the subject with us. This summer, he and his family travelled all the way from the Bahamas to sunny Leicester for the graduation ceremony.

Mr Evans has over the years gained a range of other police-related qualifications from institutions in the UK, USA and Japan. He served with the RBPF for 36 years and now holds the post of Deputy Port Controller at Freeport, a free trade zone which is also the country’s second largest city.
Next year, Mr Evans expects to begin a distance learning PhD with us.
