Leicester jumps up global rankings

Highest ever position reflects our continuing success. Go Leicester!

The QS World University Rankings are published today. More than just a newspaper league table, the QS Rankings compare every university on the planet, of which there are more than 10,000 apparently, in 52 countries.

But they only list the top 200, so any institution which makes it into the published table can legitimately claim to be among the top 2% of universities worldwide.

This year Leicester sits proudly at number 169, a hefty 27-place jump from last year’s ranking of 196 and in fact our highest position ever. This follows on from our success in the UK newspaper league tables this year with the Guardian rating us number 12 and The Times putting us in the top 15 for the third year in a row.
