With just eight weeks to go until Christmas, now is the time to start thinking about precisely what you’re going to hang on your front door. Which means that now is the time to sign up for the University Botanic Garden’s Christmas garden tour and wreath-making workshop.

The event on Saturday 4 December kicks off with a guided walk around the Botanic Garden, with your expert guide pointing out interesting winter plants and those which are particularly associated with the festive season and its associated traditions and folklore. It’s not just holly and ivy, you know.

Then it’s everybody into the Coach House for some refreshments and a demonstration of wreath-making, after which you will have the opportunity to make one of your own. Our experts will be on hand to provide guidance and assistance, helping you to produce a magnificent botanical Christmas door decoration.

This event runs from 2.00pm to 4.30pm and costs £15.00 per person which includes all refreshments and materials. To book your place, send a cheque payable to ‘The University of Leicester Botanic Garden’ to: University of Leicester Botanic Garden, Stoughton Drive South, Oadby, Leics. LE2 2NE
