SDMole10.jpgThis unique event reunites key figures in the Adrian Mole story. Expect a lively and entertaining discussion of Adrian’s early years, from his origins in Leicester, to the first radio play and then international bestseller.

Colin Broadway was Sue Townsend’s husband and has contributed to recent radio and television documentaries about her life. Radio producer John Tydeman commissioned and directed Mole’s first radio appearance. Geoffrey Strachan was publisher of the early Mole diaries at Methuen, which were brilliantly illustrated by Leicester-born artist Caroline Holden Hotopf.

All events are free, but advanced booking is required. To reserve your place please visit the Adrian Mole's 50th Birthday Celebrations Eventbright page.

Update 31/3/2017. With regret, John Tydeman and Colin Broadway are unable to take part in this event. Simon Dixon, Archives and Special Collections Manager, will be speaking instead.
