Heritage Open Days 2019: Curious Collections

Join us from 16-20 September 2019 as we uncover some of the fascinating collections of the University of Leicester

Jane the dinosaur

We're declaring our stores open! Our collections underpin fantastic teaching and research. Come for a wander through restricted areas, and wonder at some of our collections held at the University of Leicester.

Areas involved with this, our first year of opening up stores, are Attenborough Arts with an “Art on Campus” tour; Geology allows us to travel back millions of years with specimens from across the world; our Herbarium highlights the importance of archiving vascular plant collections; Museums Studies are presenting ‘Deadly dangerous objects from around the world - and how we use them for teaching!’; the East Midlands Oral History Archive captures the social history of the region and Archives and Special Collections will be looking at our historic collections of library and archive material. All events are bookable via our Eventbrite page.
