Mathematical Association

A collection of text books, popular mathematics and higher mathematics books and journals belonging to the Mathematical Association but housed in the David Wilson Library of the University of Leicester.

Mathematical AssociationBooks and periodicals belonging to the Mathematical Association are housed in the University Library on the open shelves. Books published before 1850, however, are housed in the Special Collections store. Items of special interest include C.F. Gauss Disquisitiones arithmeticae, 1801 and Euclid Elements, 1533 (illustrated here). Items from this collection can be found on the library catalogue.

 

Also held in the Special Collections store is the John Hersee Collection of mathematical exercise books from 1704 to the early twentieth century. More information is available on the John Hersee Collection page.

 

The Wittgenstein papers of Francis Skinner are currently on short-term loan to Trinity College Cambridge.
