Higson Collection

This Collection was donated by Dr. Winifred Higson, the Librarian of the Institute of Education and the School of Education of the University of Leicester between 1949-1973.

Dr. Higson's particular interest was the history of children's literature. The Collection includes alphabets and readers, stories, annuals, journals and picture books from the eighteenth to early twentieth centuries.

The Collection is available for reference and can be searched on the catalogue. Please place a Hold on material you wish to consult and make an appointment to view the items in the Special Collections Reading Room.
