The Telegraph newspaper was the first penny (1d) morning newspaper, with the largest global circulation in 1876.  Originally liberal in political nature, it had a reputation for reliable reporting of world news, and for pioneering journalistic innovation (first crossword, television column and website).  The Telegraph Historical Archive contains over 1 million pages of content, including the daily edition from 1855, and the Sunday edition from 1961.
