A comprehensive and authoritative collection of 5,500+ primary documents on British history (500-1914AD), from 13 volumes of the classic English Historical Documents series edited by David C. Douglas, including American Colonial Documents.  All documents are selected by eminent historians, with introductory commentaries and a selected bibliographies, and indexed and classified by experts at the Institute of Historical Research.  Sources include treaties, statutes, declarations, government and cabinet proceedings, military dispatches, orders, acts, sermons, newspaper articles, pamphlets, personal and official letters, diaries and more.
