An innovative shared online off-air TV and radio recording service for UK higher and further education institutions. Over 1 million TV and radio programmes from 60+ channels.

Using BoB National

Full functionality is available using Firefox, Internet Explorer 10+, Chrome or Safari

On University PC's you will need to install Firefox using the Program Installer as the default browser is Internet Explorer 9

    • Go to BoB link
    • Click Log In
    • The first time you log in on any browser you will be asked to choose your organisation
    • Type in Leicester and select University of Leicester
    • At the OpenAthens authentication point select Alternative Login
    • Type in Leicester again and select University of Leicester (you only need to do this the first time you login to BoB on your PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone)
    • Go to the University of Leicester login page
    • Enter your University IT account username (e.g. abc1) and password

Using the Content

You may:

    • watch & listen to streamed videos/audio for educational and non-commercial use only within the United Kingdom
    • share and embed programmes, clips and playlists with other authorised users (any embedded videos must always acknowledge the source and title of the programme and the ERA licensing scheme - see text under each video on BoB).

You may not:

    • make copies of the video/audio content
    • use the programmes for non-educational or for commercial use
    • alter or adapt the programmes apart from simple clip creation
    • use BoB from outside of the United Kingdom (where you will probably be in breach of local laws)
    • share your personal login credentials with others
    • make defamatory or abusive comments

Off Air Recording Service

Programmes that are not on BoB may be requested from the Off Air Recording Service.

Requests made by them through The Television and Radio Index for Learning and Teaching (TRILT) may be added to BoB and made available on demand.
