Maternity and Shared Parental Leave WorkshopsMaternity

This workshop provides an overview of the process for taking maternity leave and also shared parental leave.  Staff can attend the whole session if they would like to learn about both types of leave, or just attend for one part if they prefer. Members of staff who are taking adoption leave may be eligible to opt into shared parental leave.  Workshops consist of two-parts, Part; 1 Maternity Leave (1 hr) and Part 2: Shared Parental Leave (1.5 hrs).

University Nursery

The University of Leicester Nursery caters for children aged from six weeks to five years and is open to all University of Leicester staff and students.

Providing there are places available, the Nursery is able to accept children on an ad-hoc basis.

For information on opening times, fees and contact details for the Nursery, please contact the Nursery.

Childcare Vouchers

The University of Leicester offers a tax-free Childcare Voucher scheme which could save you up to £933 per year.

Childcare Vouchers are a government scheme that gives you a much needed cash boost if you pay for registered or approved childcare, for children up to 15 or 16 if they are disabled.  This includes childcare such as Holiday & School Clubs, Nurseries, Nannies or anything else that is registered and regulated by your regional governing body.

This is managed through an external provider, Sodexo, via the staff benefits portal which also offers exclusive discounts for University of Leicester staff.  To register for the scheme just visit the portal and click join now to start the process.

Carer's Conference Fund

A fund for carers to pay for childcare of caring responsibilities whilst attending conferences or work-related training has been agreed.  For further information, please visit the Carer's Conference Fund page.
