Getting involved

To enable our branch to continue working in the efficient way it does and provide adequate support to all its members we need volunteers to come forward to act as workplace reps or to contribute to the running of the branch by offering administrative support.

Become a workplace rep

You can become involved in whatever way suits you best, devoting as little or as much time as you are able. All efforts are appreciated and welcomed by the branch.

We are always on the lookout for new workplace reps and reps to fill other positions on the Branch Committee, if you feel that you would like to be involved at this level then please contact one of the reps to discuss.

If you prefer not to commit on a regular basis but could help with administrative tasks , campaigning tasks, then please contact one of the reps to discuss.

For a chat about how you can help or being a workplace rep please contact Sulina Hendy (7753)

Workplace Reps

Unite representatives are elected by the members that they represent. It's their job to ensure that Unite members have access to all the help, information and guidance they need regarding issues such as working conditions, pay, health and safety, equal opportunities and employment law.

They liaise between members, colleagues, their employers and the union to ensure that our members' interests are served.

Workplace representatives are supported by a network of professional regional officers located throughout the UK and Ireland. These officials provide support, encouragement and advice to them in all aspects of their work. Regional Officers are their link to the specialist services provided by Head Office Departments such as Communications, Research, Legal and Health and Safety.
