We Want Your Views on Lecture Capture

The University is considering the implementation of a new process known as "lecture capture". This involves classes being video/audio recorded and made available on the module's website. We are currently seeking clarity about lecture capture from the University about a variety of concerns that the UCU committee have (for example, the rationale and scope). Some members have already expressed an initial view, but we are keen to give ALL members an opportunity to express their concerns or comments. We are aware that this will not impact on all our members, but we would like you to consider your opinion regardless. Therefore, we would invite you to fill out our short survey at:

Click Here to Start the Survey

This survey will close at noon on Monday March 21st and is anonymous.

We will be having a discussion of this at our AGM on March 23rd which we would encourage you to attend. If you would like to talk to UCU about this, or any other concern, we would suggest you contact your departmental rep in the first instance. Contact details can be found here: http://www2.le.ac.uk/institution/unions/ucu/contact.

If you have colleagues with strong views about lecture capture who are not yet members of UCU, please encourage them to join at www.ucu.org.uk/join. We will send a survey invitation to new joiners.

With best wishes,

Leicester UCU Committee
