Twitter competition T&Cs

  1. The University of Leicester’s official Twitter account @uniofleicester will tweet a competition at approximately 10am every day during the competition period.
  2. The competition period is Friday 1 December 2017 – Sunday 24 December 2017. The first competition will be on Friday 1 December 2017, the final competition will be on Sunday 24 December 2017.
  3. There will be one competition per day during the competition period. The competition will close at 4.00pm each day.
  4. Each competition tweet from @uniofleicester will include details of the competition and the prize. Each prize will be of the approximate value of £50. There is no cash alternative.
  5. To enter the first competition on Friday 1 December 2017, Twitter users must retweet the competition message to their followers using Twitter’s retweet feature. More information can be found here Replies, likes and direct messages on Twitter will not be considered as valid entries to the competition.
  6. To enter subsequent competitions, Saturday 2 December 2017 - Sunday 24 December 2017, Twitter users must reply to the competition message using Twitter's reply feature and include the reason why they would like to win. Retweets will not be entered into subsequent competitions.
  7. The competition is free to enter.
  8. To make a valid entry, entrants must ensure that their tweet is visible to @uniofleicester. Entrants must either follow @uniofleicester or make their tweets public if they do not want to follow @uniofleicester. More information can be found here
  9. Twitter users have until 4.00pm on the same day (approximately 6 hours after the competition opens) to enter the competition. The competition will close at 4.00pm each day.
  10. Winners will be drawn at random. Twitter users who tweet the competition message will be entered into a random generator. The generator will select a winner at random for each competition.
  11. @uniofleicester will post a tweet announcing the winner by tagging their Twitter account at approximately 5.00pm each day of the competition.
  12. The winning entrant must send @uniofleicester a direct message on Twitter by 5.00pm the following day (approximately 24 hours after the winner has been announced) to claim their prize.
  13. A competition prize will be awarded for every competition that receives one or more entrants. If there are no entrants to a competition, a prize will not be awarded.
  14. Prize winners will receive their prizes up to 30 days after the closing date.
  15. There are no restrictions to the number of competitions a Twitter user can enter. A Twitter user could win more than one competition if they are the sole entrant or if the random generator selects them as the winner for more than one competition
