Strategic Conversation

The Strategic Conversation was launched by the President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Paul Boyle, at his staff address in January 2015. The process sought to gather views and ideas from staff, students, alumni, and external parties in order to inform the development of a new vision for our University.

Ranmore, an independent consultancy, were engaged to facilitate the development of the new Strategic Plan. The consultation process aimed to involve as many stakeholders as possible, via workshops, interviews, and surveys. Eleven Task and Finish Groups, focusing in more detail on key areas of activity, were also established to run concurrently with the Strategic Conversation. These groups provided additional intelligence and material for integration into the development process.

The main themes of feedback and discussion from the Conversation, and the work of the Task and Finish Groups, have been reflected in the new Strategic Plan.

The Conversation concluded with the approval of the new Strategic Plan at the Council meeting in July 2015, followed by the launch in September 2015. A video of this launch is available. (log in required)
