The new logo

A logo helps shape perceptions, and perceptions shape decisions. Our new logo—one that represents our history and heritage—is designed to have a greater impact on these perceptions and decisions, and better represent Leicester in the future. We live in an age where we are overloaded with communications, so we need to ensure that our messages reach the people we want to hear them.

Our previous logo was created nearly two decades ago. These updates respect the legacy of our official coat of arms while simplifying and emboldening its presence as part of the University’s logo structure. The new design freshens the logo, and represents the University of Leicester as it is today—dynamic, contemporary, and relevant for a digital age.
