David Melling first wrote and illustrated his own picture book The Kiss that Missed in 2002 and was short-listed for the Kate Greenaway award. To date he has illustrated over 60 books, writing and illustrating around 15 of them.

Douglas, an irresistible young brown bear is one of David’s most popular creations, featuring in a series of books and a fabulous app read by Alan Davies.
